Hypertension or high blood pressure is serious and may lead to heart disease or heart failure. If you suffer from hypertension, you should take steps to reduce the same. Usually, the doctor will prescribe certain medications which will help reduce your hypertension. You should make sure that you take the medicines regularly as prescribed. You may also take a well balanced diet and do more exercise to help reduce your blood pressure. You r should consist of fruits, vegetables and nuts beside poultry and fish. You should reduce your intake of sodium and avoid fried foods and fatty foods. In terms of exercise, you can participate in yoga, dancing, jogging, walking, aerobics etc. Yoga and meditation is good as it reduces your stress level which in turn helps reduce blood pressure. There are certain herbs such as garlic, self-hypnosis and other alternative healing methods available today for reducing hypertension.
